came across today’s movie during a Tuesday night scrolling session one evening in July when I was in the mood to be frightened. I chose it because the title was La Llorona, and when you put a title with such communal nostalgic value attached to it on something chances are I am going to end up watching it.
It is pretty much universally accepted that good horror films with genuine freights are few and far between, it’s a crowded market.

Is there anything more 2020 than a film about a pair of strangers completely ruining the lives of hyper privileged yuppies in their gated lakehouse community?
Today’s film is, in my opinion, one of the best modern horror films of the last 10 years.
